Basic Rules

It's hard to imagine that there is someone who hasn't played Tetris before.

But, the rules are pretty simple.

Basically, there are 7 different shaped pieces. They start off falling slowly, but increase in speed as you level up.

You try to rotate each piece so that it fits perfectly into empty squares and completes a full line across.

For each line that is completed all the way across it is removed and the pieces drop down.

The game ends when the pieces have piled up all the way to the top and there is no more room for a new piece.

Your score increases for dropping pieces into place faster than the fall rate.

Your score increases for clearing more than 1 line at a time.

For every 10 lines you clear, your level increases

For each level, the speed increases as well as the point values for line clears

The keyboard can be used to play the game as well with the following:

- Left Arrow / Right Arrow moves the piece to the left and right.
- Up Arrow and X key rotates the piece clockwise.
- Down Arrow soft drops the piece.
- Z rotates the piece counter clockwise.
- Space will pause and unpause the game.

There are options to turn on colors which makes it easier to see the pieces
And there are options to play as original tetris if you wish - with no pets and no pet sounds.

But, that's kind of lame considering.
